Introducing Kaya, a global online learning platform for the humanitarian sector

Kaya will facilitate the training of the next generation of humanitarian leaders and responders, especially those located in vulnerable crisis affected countries and communities where access to quality humanitarian learning is needed most.

High Quality Content

We aggregate a catalogue of existing responsive content from humanitarian, academic & private sector partners and will develop content where we identify gaps.

Recognising Learning

We are working to recognise the completion of learning pathways and programmes through digital badges and micro-certification that is ISO-standard compliant and aligns with the Core Humanitarian Competency Framework.

CHS_ALLIANCE

“Combining the Humanitarian Leadership Academy’s expertise in devising learning strategies and products with our subject matter expertise allowed us to produce, together with Groupe URD and the Sphere project, a much better e-learning module than we could have on our own. Because of the quality of the module and access to a wide public, demand has already led to translations of the module in French and Arabic, with hundreds of professionals completing the e-learning in just a few months.”

David Loquercio, Head of Policy, Advocacy and Learning, CHS Alliance

Lingos

“Through this partnership we are working together to create two ‘starter’ learning toolkits to support learners who are undertaking Project Management for Development Professionals (PMD Pro) and Financial Management for Development Professionals (FMD Pro).”

Chris Proulx, Chief Executive Officer, LINGOs

Savethechildren_denmark

“We are united in our commitment to psychological first aid for children. Through this collaboration we hope to raise awareness of psychological first aid as part of a wellness and resilience learning product to be developed with multiple partners and rolled out to the sector and beyond.”

Marie Dahl, Senior Humanitarian Advisor, Save the Children Denmark

Learning Innovation in Action

We are always looking to further support humanitarian organisations and learning providers in innovative ways. Here are some of the innovative ways we are working together:

Gamification

We aim to collaborate on humanitarian gamification with the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITC-ILO) to enable the rapid creation and deployment of mobile “mixed reality” learning games. We are planning to co-create and pilot the games using the mobilize.life platform. Read more about the project here

Innovation Challenge – Floods resilience

The Flood Resilience Innovation Challenge, in partnership with The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, seeks to identify innovative ways to build resilience of people and communities in Indonesia. Winning innovations will have access to collaboration networks, grant funding and a range of other opportunities for local organisations to implement their initiatives and work with new partners. More information coming soon.
