We are pleased to announce the launch of three new online courses, designed specifically to enable learners to prepare for assessment and formal certification in the following fields:
1) Understanding the Humanitarian Ecosystem
2) International Legal Frameworks for Humanitarian Action
3) Applying Humanitarian Principles in Practice
These three certifications are part of the PHAP Credentialing Program which aims to recognise knowledge and skills in complementary areas of humanitarian practice. The Program was developed in partnership with the Academy, please do visit the site to learn more about the certifications and assessment procedures to which these courses relate.
This forms part of the Academy’s investment in a broader initiative called HPass, designed to improve and standardise the ways in which humanitarian skills are recognised. The HPass platform is in development and will enable humanitarian staff and volunteers to earn and display badges in recognition of their skills and learning. To find out more, visit the HPass platform.
The certifications are highly relevant for individuals working in international organisations, NGOs, the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement, government institutions, academia and research, as well as others engaging with the humanitarian sector. They are stand-alone certifications designed to apply to practitioners at all levels of professional experience.
The preparatory online courses are available on our e-learning platform Kaya for free:
