We’ve recently added two new online courses from UNHCR on our e-learning platform Kaya.

Fundamentals of Immigration Detention

In this 3-hour course, you will learn why detention in the immigration context must only be used for exceptions and the importance of complying with safeguards provided in international law. This course explains the fundamental concepts and definitions of detention and practice skills related to the assessment of detention decisions.

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse

In this 1-hour course (developed jointly by UNFPA, UN WOMEN, UNICEF, UNDP and UNHCR), you will gain greater awareness of how acts of sexual exploitation and abuse impact individuals and whole communities as well as what to do when it occurs. You will learn how to combat and prevent sexual exploitation and abuse as well as the responsibilities associated with reporting allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse.

This course is available in English, Spanish, French, Arabic and Russian.
