The upcoming Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management System (PDRRMS) module was presented at two events organized by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD).

Louie John Aguila, Learning Lead at the Humanitarian Leadership Academy Philippines, presenting the PDRRMS module to the regional directors of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD).

PDRRMS is the first module of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management 101 course under the Public Sector eLearning Project of the Humanitarian Leadership Academy Philippines, in partnership with OCD Capacity Building and Training Service.

The module provides basic and contextualised technical knowledge on key concepts, legal framework and thematic areas of disaster risk reduction and management in the Philippines.

Last December 20, 2017, we demonstrated the beta version of the PDRRMS module at the OCD’s Senior Leaders’ Conference, which was attended by all OCD regional directors. The Philippines Academy Centre was also invited to present the module and promote user testing during OCD’s Workshop to Develop DRRM Policy Briefs on 18-23 February 2018. The workshop was attended by representatives from the National DRRM Council member agencies.

All OCD personnel are enjoined to participate in the user testing of the module before it is made available for the public.

The PDRRMS module will be launched in April and will be made available on the Academy’s online learning platform Kaya Connect.
