On 4th August 2017, the Middle East Centre for the Humanitarian Leadership Academy signed a collaboration agreement with the American University of Beirut (AUB) in Beirut, Lebanon.
This agreement is based on investment in knowledge through assessment, research, and content development related to the Academy’s learning pathways.
On her end, Ms. Brigitte Khair-Mountain – the director of the Middle East Academy Centre – stated that the agreement with such a prestigious academic institution will identify research and case studies on best practices across the humanitarian sector.
She added that the collaboration will concentrate on research of innovation in learning and the creation of contextualised content on innovative learning experiences (based on compiling and adapting existing global content), as well as creating new learning content both through online, offline and blended learning.
This agreement will pave the way for technical expertise to support the creation of new content and learning experiences in order to develop the learning pathways for humanitarian workers, volunteers and others. The agreement will also promote learning opportunities, including but not limited to those developed by AUB based on the results of the “Learning Needs and Capacity Building Assessment” study conducted by the Middle East Academy Centre targeting Jordan, Lebanon and Syria as the countries most affected by the Syrian refugee and IDP crisis.
