I have 30 years’ experience in education and training with humanitarian experience spanning 15 years. I first worked in a humanitarian context as part of the Pakistan earthquake response in the North-West Frontier Province in 2006. At the same time I completed my Humanitarian Masters, the thesis of which was Emergency Preparedness Planning (EPP). I worked for Save the Children Sweden as EPP Advisor in South Asia based at the regional office in Kathmandu and I went on to be Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) advisor for South East Asia based at ASEAN in Jakarta. Since that time my career has changed in several directions and I have built experience in a broad range of contexts and roles.
One thing to know:
In 2010 I set up a DRR focussed INGO linking education and DRR with retrofitting school buildings in rural Nepal.
