On 30-31 July, the participants of the SOLVE: Strengthening Organisations for Lasting Voice and Effect project met in person for the first time at the launch event in Kyiv, Ukraine.
This project is implemented by ISAR Ednannia, one of the biggest and most experienced civil society organisations (CSOs) in Ukraine, in partnership with the Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA) and Save the Children. The project aims to empower local civil society organisations by strengthening their capacity, resilience and impact to achieve a lasting impact in their communities. As part of the project, 20 CSOs will get training in project and financial management, fundraising basics, and communicating with key audiences and within teams.
During the launch meeting, more than 40 representatives from 20 civil society organisations from all over Ukraine spent two days getting to know each other, presenting the work of their CSOs, and identifying priorities and expectations from the project.
Prior to the launch, ISAR Ednannia experts conducted an external assessment of the organisational development of the selected CSOs and identified the areas needing attention for each organisation.
Strengthening communities’ resilience is one of the main pillars of the HLA’s work. Together with Save the Children, we partnered with ISAR Ednannia to support local CSOs in Ukraine, as their self-sufficiency is extremely important during humanitarian crises.
SOLVE: Strengthening Organisations for Lasting Voice and Effect project will run until January 2025.
