Experience
I am a humanitarian professional with more than 12 years of experience leading emergency response, programme development, and organisational capacity strengthening across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. Having begun my career in Syria during the early years of the conflict in 2012, I have since held senior management roles with international organisations, overseeing multi-sectoral programs in education, child protection, health, and livelihoods. My expertise spans strategic planning, donor engagement, grant management, and local partner capacity building.
Currently, I work with the Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA), where I support the design and delivery of training initiatives that strengthen the skills of humanitarian actors and civil society organisations. In this role, I lead on capacity development programmes, supporting youth leadership and local leaders in time of change and crisis, and partnership engagement to ensure local responders are equipped with the tools and knowledge to respond effectively to crises. Driven by personal experience of conflict, I am deeply committed to empowering communities and advancing sustainable humanitarian impact.
One thing to know
One thing to know about me is that I love listening to old Syrian songs that remind me of home. Music keeps me connected to my culture and inspires me to carry forward resilience and joy wherever I go.
My favourite learning resource
One of my favourite learning resources is the Humanitarian Essentials Pathway on Kaya. It provides a solid foundation across key areas of humanitarian action, combining practical tools with flexible learning. I value it because it not only strengthens technical knowledge but also inspires reflection on the principles and integrity needed to serve affected communities effectively.
